SOIL ECOLOGIST

Since my PhD realized in the laboratory of the University of Rouen (Ecodiv) in 2010, my researches focus on the understanding of the soil functions for a better management of the ecosystems. I work more precisely on nutrient cycles such as N and P at the soil-plant interface (but also K, Ca, Si and Mg), on organic matter decomposition (HFA, Gadgil effect, etc.), CNP coupling and the storage of carbon and nutrients into the soil. I give special importance to the ecological interactions among the species constituting soil biodiversity (earthworms, bacteria, fungi, mycorrhizae, nodules, nematodes, etc.) and the role played by these organisms on soil functions. I deeply work on nematodes, a fascinating faunal group. Using field trials and laboratory experiments, I investigate soil ecological functions and its determinism in the aim to provide ecological indicators for agro-ecology development. Since joining the IRD UMR Eco&Sols, I have been working on ecological engineering in low-input agrosystems in the tropics, especially on rainfed rice systems in Madagascar.
